over a secure SSH tunnel with TunnelMate!
WebTerm X™ presents live, interactive X clients from your browser.
These configurations are created and administered in one place by you or
your System Administrator, to be used by your organization. You must have reverse DNS enabled
for the WebTerm X demonstrations to work properly, and not be behind a
firewall with port 6000 and 512 turned off or blocked.
How long will this evaluation tour
take?
This tour takes less than 2 minutes, and will show you the simplicity and
seamlessness that WebTerm X 4.0 over secure connections with TunnelMate 2.0
is
like for a typical user.
What will I see?
The X client applications will be displayed on your Microsoft Windows®
computer over a Secure Shell connection (SSH) within a new Browser Pop-Up Window to begin the tour. X Clients will either
be embedded within the Web browser page (an embedded X Client over Secure
Shell) or outside
of the Web browser (as a detached X Client over Secure Shell), and as an XDM broadcast on
your own local network.
Install WebTerm
X Plug-in & TunnelMate secure client First
You will need to download and install the WebTerm X
first. Bookmark this page so you can come back to run the demo after you
have installed the plug-in.
Go to the first stop on the WebTerm
X Tour
For the first stop on the tour, let's look at the X application Xclock embedded within your Web browser.
A new Browser Window will appear and begin the tour. To close the tour,
simply close the tour pop-up window.
How can I configure pages like
these for my users?
View a typical web page containing the
necessary embed tags for WebTerm X. You will use the WebTerm
X Administrator to create web pages or connections to your Unix or VMS
hosts. To begin the test drive, select
