What causes the error "The data that the plug-in requested, did not download successfully?

If you receive a plug-in error message of "The data that the plug-in requested, did not download successfully" when using Microsoft Internet Explorer, but not with Netscape Navigator, the likely cause is that the .wtx file is not in the location indicated by the .htm file.  Generally, you will not receive this error if the .htm and .wtx files are kept in the same location.

The .wtx file is automatically created when you save a WebTerm X session as a .htm file.  While the .wtx file is empty and contains no data, it is required by Microsoft Internet Explorer to process the WebTerm X EMBED statement correctly.

Example of a .wtx file named xterm.wtx being referenced in an EMBED statement where the SRC= argument is:
