WebTerm X Frequently Asked Questions

Why do users see a "broken puzzle piece"?

The "broken puzzle piece" indicates that the browser does not recognize the plug-in. The probable cause is that either the WebTerm X Power Plug-in is not installed correctly or the MIME type is not configured correctly on the Web server. During installation the WebTerm X Power Plug-in will attempt to locate your browser's plug-in folder. If it is not able to, or you have multiple browsers installed, you will need to locate the desired plug-in folder.
If the WebTerm X Power Plug-in installed correctly and you still see the broken puzzle piece in the web page instead of the X client the probable cause is that the WebTerm X MIME type has not been added to the web server. The web server that contains the HTML and WTX configurations files must be set up to recognize the WebTerm X MIME type.
The MIME type is:
application/x-webtermx
The file extensions are:
WTX wtx .WTX .wtx
Depending upon the web server you may have to enter the extensions in upper or lower case (or both). They also may need to precede the extension with a period. See the documentation for your particular vendor's web server to learn how to add the MIME types to the server set up.
