How do I install WebTerm X Administrator and WebTerm X Power Plug-ins?
If you have received WebTerm X via a CD you can install the WebTerm X Administrator and Plug-in. The following instructions can be used for either the CD or download:
To install the WebTerm X Administrator on the administrator's computer double-click setup.exe. For installation via the CD you will find it in the xadmin folder. If downloading from the Internet the Administrator installer is called wtxadmin.exe. Follow the on-screen instructions. This installation procedure should be used on any computer that needs to run the WebTerm X Administrator program. It also installs the WebTerm X Power Plug-in.
To install the WebTerm X Power Plug-in only on an end-user's computer, double-click setup.exe. For installation via the CD you will find it in the xplugin folder. If downloading from the Internet the Plug-in installer is called wtxplugin.exe. Follow the on-screen instructions. This installation procedure should be used on any computer that needs to run the WebTerm X Power Plug-in program.
Installation Notes:
The WebTerm X installer includes the English version of Direct X version 5.1. It automatically installs all necessary Direct X files. Direct X is standard (built-in) with Windows NT. Many Windows 95 users may already have Direct X installed as a result of high-performance graphics applications or games which use Direct Draw and other Direct X subsystems.
If downloading from the Internet for demo you do not need a serial number install WebTerm X. However, you will be asked for it the first time you run a WebTerm X Power Plug-in or the WebTerm X Administrator. If you do not yet have a serial number, click the Demo button to run in Demo mode.
If you choose to install WebTerm X in the same directory location under two operating systems, such as Windows NT and Windows 95, the WebTerm X installer will prompt you:
"This same version of WebTerm X is already installed in this folder. Do you wish to overwrite the existing files?"
Be sure to click "yes" in response to this query. However, this will overwrite your WebTerm X serial number file WTADMIN.TOL. If you have already entered your serial number you may wish to copy the WTADMIN.TOL file to another location before the installation, and restore it after installation is complete.
