WebTerm Frequently Asked Questions

How do I Inhibit 3270E emulation?

In some instances, it may be desirable or necessary to deny hosts from starting sessions using Enhanced 3270 capabilities of the 3270 emulator.  This option can only be turned on by editing a .wts or .thn file directly.  This should only be done if you are sure that 3270E is causing issues in your environment.  Open a Text editor such as notepad.  You can also right click on the .wts or .thn file and choose Open With.  Next choose notepad.  In the file, you will need to locate the end of the line that starts "TELNETCONFIG=".  You may or may not see the following data at the end of that line, depending on whether you are using a newly created file one that you had before this release:

...TelnetStripNewLine\afaluse\Ninhibit3270E\afalse)>

If you see this you will need to change the last occurrence of 'false' to 'true'.  Carefully make this change EXACTLY as specified and then save the changes.  If the "Inhibit3270E" parameter is not yet in the file, then carefully insert:

\NInhibit3270E\afalse

just before the ")>" at the end of the line.  Please make sure that the changes are exactly as above.
