Support - WebTerm - setting numlock

WebTerm Frequently Asked Questions

How do I set NumLock within WebTerm?

WebTerm by default sets NumLock on when it initializes.  To override this behavior, insert the "INITNUMLOCKSTATE=#" parameter in the .wts file.  Setting the # value to correspond to the desired behavior:

  • >0 = TURN NUMLOCK ON (default)
  • 0 = TURN NUMLOCK OFF
  • <0 = NO CHANGE

For example: INITNUMLOCKSTATE=0

WebTerm does not change the status of NumLock when a terminal window gets focus by default.  You can override this behavior with the addition of the "FOCUSNUMLOCKSTATE=#" parameter to a .wts file.  Setting the # value to correspond to the desired behavior:

  • >0 = TURN NUMLOCK ON
  • 0 = TURN NUMLOCK OFF
  • <0 = NO CHANGE (default)

For example:  FOCUSNUMLOCKSTATE=0

Please note:  The settings can also be used to avoid a reported problem with the WinBook laptop keyboards, where the keypad keys are mapped onto standard keys while NumLock is on.
