WebTerm Frequently Asked Questions

How do I uninstall WebTerm?

To Uninstall the WebTerm Administrator on Windows 95/98, NT and Windows 2000:
- Exit all programs including your Web browser and any WebTerm sessions you have open.
- Back up any WebTerm Settings .WTS or HTML files you created that you wish to save.
- Uninstall the WebTerm Administrator by selecting WebTerm Administrator Uninstall from the WebTerm Administrator program group of your Start menu.
- Delete the WebAdmin folder.
To Uninstall the WebTerm Client on Windows 95/98, NT and Windows 2000:
- Exit all programs including your Web browser and any WebTerm sessions you have open.
- Select Control Panel from the Settings group of your Start menu. Choose Add/Remove Programs from the Control Panel. The Add/Remove Programs Properties window displays. Select WebTerm Client from the selection box and click Add/Remove. If "WebTerm Client" was not listed in the Add/Remove selection box, and WebTerm is installed, you probably installed previously using the WEBTERM.CAB file. In this case, use the following instructions to remove WebTerm ActiveX Control:
- Select Run from your Start menu and enter the following string to un-register the software: regsvr32 /u webterm.ocx
- For Windows 95, navigate to c:\windows\system, or for Windows 98, navigate to c:\winnt\system32
- Remove the Webterm.ocx and Webtrm32.rsc files and the webterm folder with all of its contents.
- Remove the npwts.zip and npwts32.dll in your browsers plug-ins folder (these are only installed by the plug-in, not Active X)
Note: The uninstaller looks for the program to delete based on default names. If you manually change the default name or location of WebTerm, or move it to a different directory after installation, you will have to manually remove it. Additionally, the uninstaller will not delete the WebTerm folders if you have files there that the install did not place - such as .htm and .wts session files you created while using WebTerm Administrator.
To Uninstall the WebTerm Administrator and or WebTerm Client from your Macintosh:
- Delete the WebTerm Administrator and or the WebTerm folder.
- Delete the WebTerm extensions from the extension's folder.
- Delete the NPWebTerm plug-in from your browsers plug-in folder.
