Support - eXodus low bandwidth X (LBX) support

eXodusFrequently Asked Questions

Does eXodus support the Low Bandwidth X (LBX) Extension?

eXodus does not support the Low Bandwidth X (LBX) Extension.

LBX compresses the X protocol, which is intended to improve the performance when an X application is run over a WAN.  However, the extra processing required to do the compression can actually decrease performance when an X application is run over a LAN.

Also, while LBX is a standard part of the X11R6.3 and X11R6.4 sample server implementation, it is not simply an X Extension; it also requires a LBX proxy application which runs on the host.
