Support - eXodus - authorization errors with XDMCP

eXodus Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I get authorization errors when I connect to my host with XDMCP and start an X client on another host?

When connected to a specific host using XDMCP, only clients from that specific host are allowed to connect to the X Server.  This explains why eXodus will not authorize a connection from the HP.  You can open access to your X Server through the use of the standard X client xhost.  With this client, you can open your X Server to accept connections from specific hosts, all hosts, or possibly to specific users.  While a standard X client, the capabilities of this client can vary between host systems, as well as between version of X.  Therefore, we recommend that you consult with your system administrator or the man pages for the X client to determine the appropriate syntax for your needs.
