eXodus Frequently Asked Questions

Why did an X client work with an old version of eXodus but not the new version?

Older X clients were written to use only 256 colors. Therefore, they may not correctly report the color depth to the X display server now. eXodus version 6.0 and earlier only supported 256 colors while eXodus version 6.1 and later support True Color. eXodus version 6.1 and higher default to "Same as Monitor" which might provide too much color for the client.
The work around is to set the color depth in eXodus to 256 colors:
- Click Settings
- Click Server Settings
- Click the Screens icon
- Next click Advance Setting
- In the Color option box choose 256 colors.
- Click OK
