eXodus Frequently Asked Questions
What ports need to be open in a firewall to use eXodus?
Port 6000 needs to be open for X Window's data. Additionally the following ports need to be open for the connection protocol being used:
- UDP port number: 177 for XDM
- TCP port number: 512 for REXEC
- TCP port number: 514 for RSH
- TCP port number: 23 for Telnet
Please note: You do not have to enable all of the connection ports. Try to activate only the port needed for the desired method of connection.
