How do I configure a basic TCP/IP connection?

Following is the procedure to configure a basic TCP/IP connection with 5PM Term. Please note: Before starting 5PM Term you must have an open connected to your host. If you are using a TCP/IP connection, this means you are connected to your network or internet.
Choose your connection method:

Open 5PM Term's Settings menu and select Connections. The Connections Settings dialog box opens.

To use TCP/IP open the Method list box and select TCPack as the connection method. The bottom half of the Connections Settings dialog changes to the TCPack options.

At the bottom left side of the Connections Settings dialog box, select the icon for Address. The bottom right side of the Connections Settings dialog box changes to the Address options.

In the Address/Name field, enter the domain name or IP Address of the host you are attempting to connect to.

Please note: If you enter the domain name, click on the "Get Address" button and 5PM Term will attempt to resolve the IP Address of the host. If 5PM Term is unable to resolve the host's domain name to an IP Address, you will need to enter the host's IP Address.

Click the Connections Settings dialog box. "OK" button to close the Connections Settings dialog box.
Choose your terminal type:
1. Open 5PM Term's Settings menu and select Terminal. The Terminal Settings dialog box opens.
2. Open the emulation list box and choose the communication tool for the type of emulation to use for your host.

asc420/ANSI for VT or ANSI terminals typically used with UNIX and VAX hosts.

asc3270 for TN3270 terminals typically used with IBM mainframe hosts.

asc5250 for TN5250 terminals typically used with AS400 hosts
3. Click the Terminal Settings dialog box "OK" button to close the Terminal Settings dialog box.
