Support - 5PM Term - creating macros

5PM Term Frequently Asked Questions

How do I create macros in 5PM Term for Macintosh?

In 5PM Term for Macintosh you can create macros by utilizing Hotkeys.

5PM's HotKeys are keys, or key combinations (such as Control-B), on your keyboard that when pressed run a macro.  You can create several different sets of HotKeys for a session, but only one set is active at a time.  Once created, a set of HotKeys can be used by any session.

To add a new set of HotKeys to a 5PM Term for Macintosh session:

  1. Open the session.

  2. Open the Session Info dialog box.

  3. Check "Use HotKeys"

  4. If you have not defined a HotKey group name yet, click on the plus sign icon and add a HotKey name.

  5. Select the HotKey group name from the list.

  6. Click on the magnifying glass icon.  The HotKey editor opens.

  7. Press the desired key or key combination to assign as a HotKey.

  8. Click on the "Macro..." button.

  9. Enter the desired key strokes, using the insert command as needed.  For example if you need the F1 key to transmit "<esc>[077z" you would program it using HotKey to the following:

Transmit num ToChar(27)

Transmit "[077z"

10.  Save the settings.
